POSITION SUMMARY
As the Sr. Controls Engineer, Divisional, you will support all Purina Cat Litter Plants, improving plant processes by assisting with the implementation of new projects, improving existing processes, and troubleshooting complex issues. Depending on the size and scope of the project, you may be tasked with either executing the scoping, development, and implementation of the project, or working closely with a contractor to ensure quality design, hardware, and programming solutions are delivered. Strong PLC and HMI programming experience is required, as this position will require complex troubleshooting as well as development of well-written standard code. Interpreting various requests and providing critical solutions will require you to rely on your control system experience and good communication skills. This position will also set standards for Historical data acquisition efforts, FactoryTalk server architecture, control system architecture and programming, and so much more!
- Process Improvement: Work with representatives from plants, quality teams, R&D, and management to solve existing issues and improve existing processes.
- Capital Projects: Corporate controls representation for capital projects. Provide guidance to ensure capital projects meet our standards. This includes providing direct control design, programming and support, as well as coordination and oversight of external controls contractors.
- Standards: Provide guidance and assistance from external groups on new projects. These projects can be related to anything including Historical data acquisition, SAP, MES systems, or cost reduction initiatives.
- Continually seek out and apply new methods, procedures, and technology to improve plant performance, quality and efficiency.
Requirements
- BS Engineering or related field and 5+ years' experience in control system design, programming, startup and troubleshooting in a manufacturing, industrial, military or related environment
OR
- Associate Degree in technical discipline and 7+ years' experience with control systems design, programming, startup and troubleshooting in a manufacturing, industrial, military or related environment
This position has a salary range of $91,000 to $125,000. Please note that the salary provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location.
