Senior Contracts Administrator - Contracts & Procurement
The Senior Contracts Administrator should have a comprehensive understanding of various procurement processes, such as request for proposals, invitation for bids and the ability to manage all phases of the procurement process. This position will work closely with project managers to develop scopes of work, determine procurement methodology and other aspects of the solicitation process. This individual manages complex technology, consulting, public outreach, and other professional services-type procurements and contracts. The individual should be able to negotiate and resolve contractual issues. Must be technology savvy. An understanding of the nuances of public procurement is highly desirable.
The ideal candidate will have relevant experience with procurement in the public sector. Candidates with transit or government agency senior level experience will be most successful. Ideal candidates should have a great understanding of best practices to address all phases of the procurement process including planning, negotiating and executing contracts. The ideal candidate should be a motivating and supportive leader that possesses effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate and problem solve with diverse staff, city leadership, consultant firms, funding agencies and external stakeholders and partners. The ideal candidate should be highly organized and experienced in managing multiple projects at one time.
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in Business or Public Administration or closely related field are preferred and at least five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in the development and administration of contracts.
An equivalent combination of education, training and relevant job experience will also be considered. Candidates who possess a bachelor's degree and/or public sector experience are preferred.
