JOB DESCRIPTION:  Kettelhut Construction, Inc is an established successful commercial building firm located in Lafayette, Indiana. Due to our continued and calculated growth, we have an outstanding opportunity for a Senior Project Manager to join our team of construction professionals. 

The Senior Project Manager will plan, direct, manage, and provide oversight of assigned design and Construction Projects to ensure that Kettelhut Construction, Inc. goals and objectives are accomplished within prescribed schedule and budget parameters. Effectively communicates with Owners, AE, field staff, technical staff, contractors, and management. Provides internal and external coordination and collaboration with project partners and stakeholders. This position will assist in the management of key Kettelhut initiatives and projects. The position requires considerable judgment and latitude in performing job duties and is expected to function effectively with minimal to moderate direct supervision.

TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Senior PMTypical responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to the following:

 ·        Oversee and direct Construction Project from conception to completion.

·        Review the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs.

·        Oversee all onsite and offsite construction to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations.

·        Coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors.

·        Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status.

·        Plan to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones.

·        Negotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts and obtain permits and licenses.

·        Analyze, manage, and mitigate risks.

·        Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques.

·        Assist in the development of project procurement documents for various delivery methods, including Design / Bid / Build, Design / Build, CMc, P3, and other innovative project delivery methodologies.

·        Attend and actively participate in partnering sessions with contractors, agencies, and organizations to obtain feedback on KCI performance and effectiveness; represent KCI needs; and develop strong working relationships throughout the industry.

·        Resolve conflicts between KCI, contractors, and engineering consultants. Assumes a lead role in any dispute resolution activities occurring on assigned projects.

·        Advise, consult, and communicate directly with the KCI President and Vice President on project matters.

·        Occasionally prepare and lead presentations to the public, and outside agencies and organizations.

·        Manage project budgets in an effective, efficient manner.

·        Complete any other job-related duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION
·        BS degree in Engineering or Construction Management

·        8-10+ years of Project Management experience

·        Or equivalent combination of education and experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
·        Strong technical and communication skills are critical.

·        Strong leadership skills.

·        Ability to work in a team environment.

·        Deadline and detail oriented.

·        Knowledge of construction management software and Microsoft Office.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently or occasionally required to:

 

·        Uses personal computer approximately 4-5 hours per day.

·        Uses telephone and email to communicate with consultants, contractors, and coworkers, approximately 5-6 hours per day.

·        Sits approximately 4-6 hours per day.

·        Visits project sites on an ongoing basis; moves about the project sites.

·        Sit, stand, or walk.

·        Climb or balance.

·        Stoop, crouch and step over obstacles.

·        Lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.

·        Work in outdoor conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity or work in an environment with dust, loud noise and/or vibrations.
