Job Description
SUMMARY: Construction Management Associates is looking for a new team member to join their construction estimating department. This candidate should have working experience with Multi-Family Construction projects from $10 million and up. Commercial Experience is a plus. The primary responsibility of a Senior Construction Estimator is to accurately estimate construction costs by collecting and analyzing data and to have a thorough understanding of the requirements for each project while insuring the highest level of accuracy. This includes using Historic data and takeoffs/unit costs for the preparation of preliminary budgets and collecting bids to assemble a final budget.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Day-to-day tasks will include Working with our Development/Design Team on new construction and rehab projects during design process to assure design is tracking within current projected budget.
· Preliminary budgeting for Development of projects based on historic data and plan takeoffs for accurate costs.
· Posting projects for bid and confirming with follow ups for bid coverage.
· Estimating final and accurate project costs based on bids received and scope clarification.
· Entering received bids onto spreadsheets for cost and scope comparisons.

· Analyzing bids received for scope of work coverage and accurate costs.
· Estimating and data entry to maintain cost database for multiple projects.
· Establish and maintain working relationships with suppliers and trade partners.
· Communicate early with trade partners and team members for upcoming projects.
· Support management in creative solutions to improve current processes and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· 5 Years + experience as a Lead Construction Estimator
· Technical college degree, 4-year degree, or in lieu of degree, 10+ years of relevant experience
· Knowledge of new multifamily construction, Historic renovation, and RAD MF projects
· Extensive knowledge of construction means and methods.
· Knowledge with CSI divisions of labor for full project coverage
· Good understanding of MS Office and Excel. Other software used: Building Connected, One Team, Plan Grid, BuilderTrend and Smartsheet
· Good understanding of building codes and energy codes
· Knowledge of following trades: Concrete, Masonry, Metal Framing, Wood Framing, Insulation, Exterior Façade Materials, Siding, Roofing (Membrane & Asphalt), Doors & Hardware, Storefront, Curtainwall, Windows, Gypsum Board, Finishes, Flooring, Cabinets & Countertops, Elevators, Fire Suppression, Plumbing, HVAC, Electrical, Paving, Excavation, Underground Utilities, Landscaping
· Ability to read architectural and structural drawings with an understanding of Civil Engineering plans, and MEP Design
· Detail-oriented and organized individual who takes pride in work produced.
· Ability to prioritize schedule based on workload, deadlines, and good communication with team
