Essential Functions
  • Examines the documents and submitted forms in order to ensure compliance with the requirement standards of the company and to check for any inconsistencies or accuracy issues.
  • Verifies that the loans have been approved by an authorized party. Ensures appropriate approval and/or waivers and exceptions are obtained.
  • Conducts lien searches and related due diligence tasks to determine appropriate actions to resolve outstanding lien issues and deliver lien documents to designated vendors including but not limited to reviewing title searches and UCC searches.
  • Prepares Commercial Loan documents using in-house documentation software platform for new loans, renewals, extensions and modifications.
  • Prepares and provides accurate loan documents that calculate the appropriate conditions, identify the terms of repayment and perfect the Bank’s collateral interest.
  • Interacts with relationship managers, relationship assistants and various other internal departments to ensure all conditions are met for closing and to coordinate the details of the loan closing and funding.
  • May provide training and support for other Commercial Loan Processors.
  • Assists in clearing citings and exceptions related to loans assigned to the Loan Processor.
  • Reviews attorney prepared documents for accuracy and completeness.
  • Coordinates closings with officers and other parties.
  • Adheres to compliance requirements of insurance and internal flood policies and procedures.
  • Identifies and properly reports HMDA loans.
  • Continually learns and attains proficient knowledge of the Bank’s core system. (Fiserv Signature)
  • Proactively solves problems and finds solutions to issues that might derail closings or otherwise inconvenience customers.
  • Generates updates and maintains required reports.
  • Accountable for the understanding of and adherence to operational controls, policies, procedures, and processes to ensure compliance with bank policies and related laws and regulations
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties in this job classification.

Position Requirements (Knowledge/Skills/Abilities)
  • Working knowledge of the Commercial Loan industry and federal and state regulatory requirements governing loan processing.
  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within commercial banking.
  • Knowledge of loan documentation, loan closing processes and procedures, lending policies, compliance, and lending regulations in a financial institution or law firm.
  • Knowledge of insurance and flood requirements.
  • Working knowledge of HMDA reportable loans.
  • Intermediate level knowledge of the MS Office Suite with the ability to learn other job-specific software
  • Strong organizational, written and oral communication skills and ability to distill and convey information in a compelling manner.
  • Skill in adopting technological advancements and facilitating into current and future responsibilities.
  • Ability to review and interpret moderately complex loan documentation.
  • Ability to work with minimal direction and demonstrate proactive problem-solving skills with minimal errors on all assigned duties.
  • Ability to execute responsibilities independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability and confidence to prioritize assigned tasks to accommodate departmental needs and meet established turn-around times of all loan settlements.
  • Ability to attend to details and pursue quality in accomplishing tasks.
  • Ability to anticipate, monitor, and meet the needs of customers (internal and external) and respond in an appropriate manner.
  • Ability to work collaboratively, communicate effectively and have positive relationships with customers (internal and external).
  • Ability to proactively complete tasks, recognize and solve problems, improve processes, enhance products, and/or extend services within assigned range of authority.
  • Ability to multitask within clearly defined timelines.
  • Possesses the drive to work towards a standard of excellence.

Education/Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of Commercial Loan documentation/processing or related experience.
  • Working knowledge and experience using Laser Pro software to prepare loan documents (preferred).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Fiserv’s Signature/DNA and Nautilus software (preferred)
