The Opportunity
This opportunity is to contribute to the financial success of the company by responding to claims file inquiries both internally and externally, typically claims of high cost and complexity. Handle escalations from Analysts/Specialists. Use judgment to evaluate and audit claims to determine the final outcome of the claim. Maintain accurate documentation resulting in alignment with corporate objectives and achieve department success.
Primary Responsibilities
• Provide claims customer service support by analyzing and responding to high cost and complexity claims inquiries
• Handle escalations of low-to-medium cost/complexity claims. Provide guidance to analysts/specialists
• Lead high dollar and/or complex claims handling by gathering and evaluating relevant information, mailing claims items, maintaining accurate documentation, tracking claims files and resolving outstanding issues to ensure alignment with corporate standards and government regulations
• Audit specialty crops, high dollar and complex claims to ensure process accuracy and compliance; investigate issues and questions as needed
• Support internal and external customers by analyzing claims files to identify and measure leakages and compliance issues in the claims process
• Communicate claims file status and details by sharing relevant information with claimants, insured parties, vendors, specialists, agents and other employees as needed and verifying data to support delivery of effective customer service
• Resolve and handle all 1099 issues and FCIC errors through following required processes and procedures
• Provide timely and accurate payment of claims, questions regarding status and dollar amounts of claims and work with Field Claims Manager and Adjusters to gather missing information
• Audit specialty crops, high dollar and complex claims to ensure process accuracy and compliance; investigate issues and questions as needed
• Provide internal and external training on company claim processing and procedures
• Represent Company through testifying at arbitrations
• Lead various audits for specialty crops and/or high dollar claims analyzing claim errors and payout issues. Investigate all concerns to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures
• Participate in analyst/specialist onboarding by sharing technical knowledge, recommending solutions to complex, escalated issues, training on department processes and procedures and demonstrating application of best practices to assist in development of new team members
• Cultivate claims support skills and knowledge by seeking advice and guidance of peers and participating in cross-training as required to learn additional processes and increase personal effectiveness

Required Education
• High School Diploma/GED
Required Experience
• 4 years relevant experience

Preferred Education
• Associate's Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
Preferred Experience
• 4 years of crop insurance and/or claim processing
Preferred Licenses/Certifications
• Crop Adjuster Proficiency Program (CAPP) Card
Preferred Knowledge
• Working knowledge of basic computer hardware and software, Microsoft Office Suite and database systems
• Principles and processes for providing customer service including meeting quality standards for services and evaluation of customer satisfaction
• Working knowledge of industry best practices and policies

Compensation
Base pay offered will vary depending on, but not limited to education, experience, skills, geographic location and business needs
Annual Salary Range: $59,000 - $89,000
