As a Senior Claims Adjuster, you will handle complex, litigated claims, typically consisting of medium to complex non-litigated and litigated general liability and third-party automobile bodily injury and property damage claims and may also include claims involving more specialized lines of business such as employment practices liability, construction defect, and errors, and omissions for a large, dedicated client.
Primary responsibilities include:
The adjuster will be responsible for the day-to-day handling and management of claims. This includes an initial assessment of the tort claim and management of the government tort claim procedures and notices, investigation, assessment of liability and damages, maintaining proper reserves, negotiation, and settlement, litigation management support (managing lawsuits), and attending settlement conferences and meetings as directed by the Supervisor. The adjuster will clearly document all handling in the claims file and will maintain a current plan of action for moving the file toward closure at the earliest opportunity. The adjuster may be responsible for field assignments or engaging a 3rd party to carry out fieldwork.
Requirements
Education and Experience
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• At least five years of experience with insurance claims, self-insurance, pooled insurance, or Joint Powers Authorities required.
• Possess basic knowledge relating to the handling of public entity liability claims.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Salary Description
$75,000-$95,000 per year
