The Role - Senior Capacity Coordinator

The Senior Capacity Coordinator is perfect for an individual who has at least 2 years of experience in all aspects of moving a full truckload - from the customer operations side to the carrier side - to knowing the market and booking trucks. This role will be comfortable managing shipments from start to finish to support their Sales Team from quoting freight, building loads, scheduling appointments, managing carriers and giving our customers an elite experience.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Build out internal capacity by locking in contracts with carriers on contracted lanes.
• Ensure all loads are covered and updated each day.
• Develop carrier relationships to effectively support our customer freight needs.
• Utilize internal/external resources to make informed buying decisions.
• Use strong negotiation skills to help minimize the company's transportation spend.
• Provide continual sourcing of new carrier partners and existing underutilized partners.
• Maintain daily communication with carriers to determine capacity availability and negotiate transportation rates.
• Able to multi-task and grow a book of business outside of what the company is currently doing in terms of GP/Load Count/Carrier Relationships.
• Understand and stay abreast of current market trends, seasonality and industry updates.
• Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): Margin, Volume, Bounce %, Manage Carriers/Repeat Carriers.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Experience in FLT freight brokerage preferred.
• FTL experience (Dry Van, Reefer, Flatbed)
• Ability to problem solve, think quickly and make educated business decisions.
• Ability to prioritize, multi-task and manage time effectively and efficiently.
• Phone Etiquette - effective, professional and pleasant phone presence and skills.
• Strong organization, attention to detail and time management skills
• Ability to multi-task with prioritization to not lose sight of the ultimate objective to succeed.
• Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail oriented.
