SENIOR BUYER

Basic qualifications
Qualifications for the ideal candidate include:
- 4 to 6 years of procurement experience in a high-velocity manufacturing environment
- Must have a 4-year degree or equivalent experience
- Epicor experience is highly preferred
- Excellent MS Office suite skills
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to function well in a high-paced environment
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic sourcing initiatives, best practices, and strategies that align with company strategy, ensuring effective implementation and execution
- Ensure focus on overall globally sourced commodities with an understanding and accountability of the results needed to meet overall business objectives
- Support enterprise initiatives by developing sourcing strategies ensuring migration into existing supply chain with minimum interruption and maximum cost reduction
- Lead efforts in supplier performance improvement based on scorecards and internal metrics
- Ensure continuous improvement initiatives, including On-Time Delivery (OTD), Quality, Cost, lead time reduction, and multi-vendor sourcing.
- Works in conjunction with Engineering and QC departments to establish tolerances and manage vendor nonconformance program
- Manage team members as applicable in the creation & execution of action plans as required to successfully qualify new supplier solutions and ensure successful manufacturing transitions
- Lead all facets of sourcing process to support Product Development, total supply chain, and product manufacturing phases
- Reach out to site tactical supply chain teams and NPI supply chain teams to ensure coordination & collaboration for successful implementation of sourcing strategies & initiatives
- Lead the negotiation of select long-term agreements to maximize value from supply base
- Lead large-scale Bill of Materials (BOM) and program cost savings
- Develop strategic relationships with targeted suppliers
- Review and ensure that the appropriate financial metrics are monitored and that proper financial controls are in place
- Lead performance improvement using overall leadership experience
- Additional tasks and duties as assigned
