The Senior Business Systems Analyst will be responsible for identifying opportunities for improving services and products to Seattle Credit Union members and improving processes internal to SCU through the use of technology, exhibiting a broad knowledge base of multiple applications in a highly collaborative environment. This role will accomplish this through leveraging the functionality of applications, management of vendor relationships and maintenance of a professional working relationship with the end user of the applications. This role acts as a liaison between business units and IT departments to translate business needs and objectives into technology solutions. The Senior Business Systems Analyst also provides Core application system expertise, assists the Application Engineer with management Core applications and the Core Administrator with management of Core system related jobs, provides troubleshooting for application related problems. WHAT YOU WILL DO:
  • Leads systems and/or process analysis and design to meet functional and organizational requirements, individually and/or through assigned staff.
  • Aligns systems designs with SCU's business and technical strategies.
  • Lead the process of creating a product/program's business case, managing the identification, and proposing viable technology solutions with a focus on reducing technical debt, satisfying regulatory compliance and delivering business features and functional demands.
  • Work with the Product Owner, decision makers, and end users to define and document roadmap and sprint-level goals, requirements, user stories and outcomes.
  • Manage the process across their delivery team to elicit, document and communicate user requirements and functional specifications through coordinated workshops, creating use cases and process models.
  • Manage complex software platforms with critical business requirements for financial, product and compliance requirements. This includes managing configuration, data, user permissions, workflow, reporting, upgrades, and processing.
  • Develop, review, modify and recommend business requirements applied to applications, systems, and initiatives.
  • Contribute to the process and create a product/program's business case, lead identifying business value and outcomes and propose viable technology solutions with a focus on reducing technical debt, satisfying regulatory compliance, and delivering business features and functional demands.
  • Manage Core system related jobs, provide troubleshooting for application related problems.
  • Create, modify, and update system jobs, schedules, and procedures to comply with new operational solutions.
  • Analyze and refine requirements and acceptance criteria for all sizes of programs/products.
  • Create and manage interface designs, prototypes, data flow diagrams and system models.
  • Translate functional and non-functional specifications for internal and external software requirements. Assist in managing applicable vendor relationships and coordination of vendor deliverable.
  • Work with other technology and business-related experts to address Product, business, technical and infrastructure needs.
  • Create and manage technical user manuals, system configuration documentation and other technical reports for all sizes of products/programs.
  • Manage communication between end users, vendors and IT departments to resolve production and development environment problems.
  • Oversee test plan and refinement of technical solutions and support testing by facilitating resolution of identified bugs.
  • Occasionally be available for after-hours and weekend work as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING:
Basic Qualifications:
  • Intermediate to advanced experience with Core System (Fiserv DNA).
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology or related with five (5) + years of IT and experience.
  • Two+ years financial institution experience.
  • Intermediate SQL experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of deposit functions and all credit union services.
  • Comprehensive core system knowledge of both frontline and back-office functions
  • Comprehensive knowledge of alternate delivery channels such as on-line banking, telephone banking, and shared branching.
  • Working knowledge of both frontline and back-office functions.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS NEEDED
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and sound business judgment.
  • Experience with data management and analysis.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills. An ability to modulate styles depending on the audience.
  • Intermediate to advanced experience with Core System (Fiserv DNA).
  • Minimum of two years' previous work-related skill, knowledge, experience working with core mainframe systems preferred.
  • Experience leading projects.
  • Knowledge of Fiserv products.
  • Experience writing SQL scripts for report writing and data mining.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).

Working Conditions:
  • This is a hybrid role with work performed remotely as well as in an office and/or branch environment in the Greater Seattle area of Washington State.
  • Team members may attend special off-hour meetings and seminars.
  • The nature of work may include prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
