ADP Technology Services, Inc. is hiring a Senior Business Systems Analyst in our Norfolk, VA location.

  • Variety of work. There is no typical day. You could be checking in with a team in India one minute, meeting with leadership to review initiatives for the coming quarter later and tomorrow handling a few ad hoc requests from your peers in other departments.
  • Influence and inspire confidence. You are comfortable presenting to senior leaders, product owners, and peers with a compelling voice that you demonstrate through executive presence, leading change, and creating clear executive-level communications on milestone achievements.

  • Responsibilities. Participate in relevant aspects of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including planning, constructions, testing, reviews, and demonstrations. Work with product owners and business stakeholders to understand their requirements, create features and user stories, prioritize, and size the backlog, and ensure user stories are fully groomed prior to development. Work closely with product owners and technical SMEs to formulate the product feature roadmap. Develop strategic initiatives in support of high-level business objectives. Conduct structured analysis according to Agile SDLC standards and prepares analysis documentation, including user stories, use cases, or other requirements documentation. Work with business stakeholders to understand and document current process, identify potential optimizations, and work with the developers to define future state. Facilitate demos and walkthroughs to gain consensus from the business on design and implementation of product features. Collaborate with product owners to define product roadmaps and translate into epic/initiatives; decomposes into features and user stories. Responsible for ensuring US meet definition of ready, fully groomed with success criteria. Assist scrum team with planning and estimation. Provide input into sprint retrospectives. Collaborate with scrum teams to document and design alternative solutions if needed to satisfy user, business, statutory, and system requirements. Present alternatives to users and impacted areas to facilitate design decisions and gain consensus. Assist in testing the features developed by the scrum team as needed. Create success criteria with detailed definitions and test cases against them. Assist in estimating and scheduling of a product or product tasks. Provide assistance to the IT Organization to troubleshoot and resolve problems and to explore opportunities for enhancement and improvement.

TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE:
  • Education and Experience. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, related Engineering disciplines, or related field of study plus 5 years of related experience required. The company will also accept a Master's degree and 2 years of related experience.
  • Work Experience. Two (2) years of experience must include: Jira; Confluence; Agile/Scrum; DevOps practices and principles; Technical concepts such as APIs, software testing frameworks and logging frameworks; Database querying (MongoDB, Oracle); Monitoring Tools (Splunk, Pendo); Troubleshooting technical issues; Design/Diagraming Tools (Visio, Envision); and Building and reviewing test cases for feature certification.
