Job Overview:
Orrum Clinical Analytics (OCA) was born from a commitment to patient quality and safety by leaders in perfusion and extracorporeal life support services. OCA leverages technology to revolutionize patient care by transforming clinical data into actionable knowledge. As we continue to expand our data infrastructure and analytics capabilities, we are seeking a skilled and experienced senior data engineer to join our dynamic team.

As a Business Intelligence Developer at OCA, you will play a crucial role in building and maintaining our library of reports and performance dashboards. You will work closely with our cross-functional teams to analyze and represent clinical data collected in cardiac surgery and extracorporeal care. Your expertise in communicating complex stories with data will be essential in crafting robust and scalable solutions to drive data insights and decision-making.

Responsibilities:

- Work closely with clinical stakeholders to gather and clarify reporting requirements.

- Own BI and reporting platform to support OCA and customer needs

- Establish standard processes in dashboard design, data modeling, and workflow then partner with analysts to implement consistently

- Monitor the performance of BI reports and dashboards.

- Create reports and dashboards using BI tools such as MS Power BI, MS Report Builder and web-based tools to visualize data and key performance indicators (KPIs)

- Partner with our engineering team to drive standard practices and enhance our data infrastructure

- Work with data governance stewards to ensure compliance with data quality and security standards.

- Run and maintain executive and departmental reporting

- Maintain documentation related to data definitions, business rules, and report specifications.

- Provide training to end-users on using BI tools and interpreting reports.

- Remain current with the latest industry trends and best practices in data visualization.

Requirements:

- A bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Information Systems, or a related field is often preferred with 3-4 years of experience in data presentation layer.

- 4+ years of advanced analytics experience

- Strong experience developing and training BI tool standard processes among analysts and end-users

- High-level SQL proficiency

- Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms and services (e.g., Snowflake, AWS, GCP, Azure).

- A passion for full-stack data modeling and owning the end-to-end process ensuring data quality with a focus on back-end data modeling

- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex data issues.

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.

Preferred Skills (a plus):

- Experience with Snowflake data warehouse and its features.

- Experience with MS Power BI, Tableau and other modern BI tools for design.

- Experience with producing paginated reports.

- Experience with Python.

- BI tool admin experience covering user permissions and content management
