Under direction of the Agriculture Program Supervisor I (APSI), the Senior Brand Inspector will regularly perform the full range of brand inspection duties, independently perform the more complex field work, including leading and training less experienced inspectors. The incumbent must possess the knowledge of but not limited to, the practice and application of brand inspection, production, marketing, and trade practices of the cattle industry; familiarity with rules of evidence and court procedures. Assist investigators as necessary for detecting violations of the Hide and Brand Law. Provide leadership and guidance to BRAND INSPECTORs. This position requires a valid California Driver License, maintaining a good driving record, and a willingness to work long and irregular hours in all weather conditions.
Collaborate with the APS I to organize, plan, direct, supervise and monitor brand inspection.
Coordinate program activities and acts as liaison with industry, law enforcement and court personnel.
Review work reports and provides training to BRAND INSPECTORs and to field staff.
