In this role, you will develop, research, design, implement, test, and evaluate software that enables computers to perform their applications, applying principles and techniques of computer science and engineering.
Typical Functions:

• Analyzes software requirements to determine the feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
• Design and implement server-side logic for our software applications. Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code using Java 8 or higher JDK version.
• Create and maintain APIs (e.g., REST APIs, microservices, etc.). Ensure APIs are well-documented, secure, scalable, and adhere to industry standards.
• Design, implement, and manage databases that store and retrieve data efficiently. Optimize database queries, manage data migrations, and ensure data integrity.
• Identify and address the backend systems's bottlenecks, latency issues, and other performance-related challenges. Optimize code, queries, and configurations to ensure optimal application speed and responsiveness.
• Develop and implement unit testing, integration testing, and automated testing. Ensure code quality, stability, and reliability.
• Investigate and resolve backend-related issues and bugs reported by users or discovered during testing. Implement solutions to prevent recurrence.
• Collaborate closely with other developers, product managers, and team members to understand requirements, provide technical insights, and deliver integrated solutions.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in Java and backend development.
• We may assign other duties or functions.

Participate in a team-based Agile Scrum Environment:

• Strong experience working in an Agile Scrum environment, with an ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
• Experience with JIRA, Confluence, or similar tools for project tracking and collaboration.
• You are to maintain the highest level of code quality by implementing best software development practices while building and delivering internal and external customer-facing Web applications.
• You must ensure that delivered applications work on all major browsers and platforms.
• You are to drive our technology stack forward by being a leader, learner, and sharer.

Requirements
Core Requirements:

• Proficient in Java using Java 8 or higher JDK versions.
• Proficient at writing Unit Tests in JUnit, Mockito, or similar frameworks.
• Proficient at implementing algorithms and data structures in Java or C#.
• Strong knowledge of SQL running on MySQL or similar databases, including but not limited to extensive experience working with complex stored procedures, table definitions, and a proven track record of performance optimizations and troubleshooting of SQL logic.
• Proficient at building intelligent solutions to complex problems.
• Proficient at managing one's own time.

Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar experience.
• 5+ years of Java experience.
• 5+ years of SQL experience.
• 2+ years of C# or similar .NET framework experience.
• Excellent Verbal and Written communication skills.

Preferred Education & Experience:

• Experience with developing APIs or REST microservices in Java or C#.
• Experience with optimizing SQL and complex stored procedure logic.
• Experience with C# ASP.NET.
• Experience with AWS Cloud Infrastructure and services such as S3, Lambda, EC2, SNS/SQS, etc.
• Experience with Jenkins or other similar pipeline technologies.
• Experience with basic HTML, Javascript, or similar Frontend tech stack.
• Experience with code versioning tools Git.

Salary Description
$115,000 - $125,000 annually
