Position Responsibilities:
- Perform a comprehensive audit of programs administered by the Housing Authority including single audits
- Prepare audit report of Financial Statements and Supplemental Information for each fiscal year
- Assure that the audit work papers contain collaborating evidence to support the objectives
- Supervise audit staff performing audits and ensure work effort is directed wholly toward the desired outcome
- Study and evaluate clients’ internal controls, compliance, document findings, and questioned costs
- Prepare audit reports, including all relevant disclosures
- Prepare other reports, documentation, or schedules as required by HUD and applicable auditing or financial reporting

- Ensure audit submissions meet deadlines imposed by HUD into the Federal Clearinghouse and any other HUD required remittance on or before the due date for each audit year performed
- Perform other audit duties as needed
Education & Experience:
- BA/BS degree in Accounting, Finance or related field;
- Minimum 5 years of audit experience with at least 3-5 years of experience with affordable housing programs/HUD
- Well-rounded knowledge of accounting principles; knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), knowledge of Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS), Government Auditing Standards (GAS Yellow Book), and Generally Accepted Governmental Accounting Standards (GAGAS), and 2 CFR Part 200 Guidelines
- Knowledge of HUD authoritative HUD sources such as HUD Handbook 2000.04 REV-2, Change 1, Consolidated Audit Guide for Audits of HUD Programs a plus.
- Experience performing financial statement audits for federal government agencies
- Able to lead, motivate, and supervise staff
- Self-motivated with the ability to operate independently as well as the ability to work cohesively as a member of a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good oral and written communication skills
