Senior Analyst, Strategy, Finance & Analytics - Javits Convention Center

Job Summary

The Business Financial Analyst is a SENIOR ANALYST position on the E15 analytics team within Levy. As a Business Financial Analyst, you would become E15’s primary point of contact with Levy's operators and clients at Javits’s Convention Center and helping support Levy’s larger Convention Center sector. You would help the on-site controller with various financial tasks and conduct several data-driven projects, including performance reporting and economic valuations, and serve as project manager for others, including the creation and strategic deployment of E15’s proprietary analytics products.

Detailed Responsibilities

• Acts as a liaison with the team, including partner’s operational team, Levy team and other areas as needed to ensure efficient operational performance
• Works with Levy team members and user community to assess and analyze business functions and processes to gain a deep understanding to define and articulate the business requirements and needs
• Identifies goals, develops best practices for data collection, and analyzes current processes to determine what can be improved to achieve desired outcome
• Analyzes expenses and cost transactions; ensures that transactions are recorded accurately and assigned to the appropriate projects and departments
• Provides detailed financial analysis and reports of expenses, includes breakdowns of project and event costs, trends, and forecasts of remaining expenses
• Conducts market research as needed to recommend changes to pricing or business models
• Prepares periodic cost reconciliation reports tracking data such as changing labor and supply costs
• Identifies opportunities for improvement and makes recommendations to increase efficiency
• Communicates key insights and findings to operation team
• Provides recommendations that can help improve decision-making processes internally or at customer levels.
• Performs quality assurance and business risk evaluations
• Produces high quality, meaningful, and precise presentations and complex reports
• Creates and maintain various tracking documents
• Maintains accurate and efficient filing of financial archive files and data
• Provides accurate and targeted financial analysis as requested
• Ensures required department reports are completed and information is compiled at month-end closing
• Performs other duties, as assigned

Skills and Experience

• 2+ years of professional experience in a finance, accounting, or computer programmer analyst role
• Operational experience in food and beverage is preferred
• Business Degree and/or CPA certification is preferred
• High level of computer literacy
• Passion for hospitality, food, and retail
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments in a tight deadline driven environment and the ability to adjust to changing priorities
• Ability to work independently and possess strong problem-solving skills
• Detail oriented and highly organized with excellent analytical and communication skills
• Proven business analytical capabilities to solve complex business issues
• Ability to document, prepare, and deliver effective presentations to a wide-range audience
• Ability to develop strong working relationships with peers and other departmental team members
• Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to work non-standard hours as dictated by event schedule
