Job Summary:

The Operations Analytics team within the North America Data Office is seeking a Senior Analyst to join their team. The North America Data Office plays an integral role in enabling Global Risk Solutions North America to deliver exceptional value to our clients and partners. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing and interpreting complex data to drive operational efficiency, improve processes, and support strategic decision-making within the North America Office of Operations. You will collaborate regularly with our key stakeholders to drive high impact initiatives that will enable North America to achieve our goals of delivering top-quartile profitability and being the most trusted global insurance brand.

If the selected candidate lives within 50 miles of a GRS office, then the selected candidate must have an in-office presence two times/week. This policy is subject to change.

The preference is for the selected candidate to live in the Eastern Time Zone, although candidates from all time zones will be considered.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct moderate to high complexity analysis under general direction for the North America Office of Operations
• May lead and manage high impact projects and workstreams
• Identifies trends and issues following pre-defined business processes. Provides technical and analytical assessments of issues facing the business and presents findings to key stakeholders.
• Gather and query data to conduct ad hoc analysis of metrics and builds tools to help monitor execution to our key strategies
• May utilize more advanced statistical techniques to solve business problems. May utilize, update and adapt predictive modeling tools and/or focus on the application of the tools.
• Closely monitor and assess operations and performance trends, as well as the impact of planned initiatives aimed at improving outcomes across underwriting segments
• Work cross-functionally to proactively investigate, understand internal trends, and make tactical or strategic recommendations
• Mentor, motivate and train less experienced staff and peers; may manage interns or rotational analysts

Preferred Qualifications:

• Confidence in engaging senior leaders and managing large-scale initiatives with numerous stakeholders
• Comfort with navigating through ambiguity and adapting to changing priorities
• Knowledge of commercial property and casualty insurance concepts as demonstrated by at least 5 years of relevant and progressively more challenging work experience
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with proven ability to make data-driven decisions or recommendations
• Advanced knowledge and proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, data analysis and visualization software (e.g., SAS, Teradata, Tableau, Power BI) and modeling languages like R or Python
• Candidate displays intellectual curiosity, problem-solving skills, ability to quickly grasp new concepts and technologies, and motivation to work towards becoming a thought leader in areas of responsibility
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as proven ability to effectively present technical concepts to non-technical individuals within and outside the organization.
• Ability to foster and encourage teamwork and productive working relationships with stakeholders at all levels and across organizational lines.
• Master’s degree in business, economics, or other quantitative fields preferred

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree plus a minimum 3 years, typically 4 or more years of experience, or equivalent, is required.
• Mathematics, Economics, Statistics or other quantitative field are preferred fields of study.
• Advanced knowledge of data sources, tools, statistical principles and methodologies, and techniques.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel (VBA, macros, scripts, formulas, data visualization, etc.), PowerPoint, and statistical software packages (SAS, Emblem).
• Must have good planning, analytical, decision-making and communication skills. Solid understanding of business to improve business outcomes.
