Senior Analyst - Advanced Analytics

The team is committed to delivering meaningful impact through a culture of problem-solving, guided by data and research. We create the resulting feedback and insights-to-action for the Privacy team.

The Difference You Will Make:

You will directly support the Safety team at Airbnb, and partner closely with teams across the business in your work. Your primary focus will be to develop data views, and insights that promote exceptional experiences for our customers. You will recommend, develop and maintain OKRs and KPIs for product, experience, and operations teams. You will determine the potential of proposed initiatives and execute measurement and experimentation plans to confirm these expectations. Day to day activities will include: automating and structuring manual processes, developing experience-based data stories through ongoing views and dashboards, tracking operational opportunities as surfaced by top driver analysis, and deeper dive/long-term data projects that increase the experiential understanding of specific stakeholders or teams. In addition, you will be involved in the technical details of the various data systems we build, and will have the opportunity to collaborate with a strong team of engineers, product managers, designers and operations agents to improve targeted experiences through data analysis and data-driven approaches.

A Typical Day: 

• Use a combination of data engineering, science and analytics based skills to build business insights around the safety experience with Airbnb’s process, policies and product.

• Build data views and perform investigations that increase Airbnb’s understanding of and ability to improve safety approaches.

• Conduct deep analysis into various areas of safety experience.

• Influence data-driven decisions around safety in regular business reviews, through dashboards, scorecards, targeted analysis and in operational improvement backlogs.

• Design and execute experiments to determine impact and potential improvements.

• Contribute to improvements across key safety journeys that directly impact the experience of the greater Airbnb community.

Your Expertise:

• A minimum of 5+ years of experience in business analytics with an emphasis on operations scalability and optimization; and on developing business facing metrics and solving future business decisions.

• Expert skills in SQL and expert in at least one programming language for data analysis (Python or R).

• Demonstrated ability to create and drive data views and analysis for the business, and help teams execute against them

• Proven ability to tailor data solutions to business problems to a cross-functional team, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively on solution versions and features

• Positive, solution-oriented mindset; leads by example.

• Strong time management and prioritization capabilities.

• Absolute ability to maintain confidentiality and objectivity.

• Travel requirements (if applicable)

• Preferred Experience

  • Prior experience with Customer Service organizations.

  • Experience with:

    • Large, complex dashboards across a number of data pipelines and inputs

    • Product experimentation

    • Building ad hoc views with code-based data work as well as a range of data & analytics tools

    • Setting the context for data within key customer journey

  • Background working on customer experience data and insights-to-action

  • Prior experience of end-to-end ownership of data projects, including rigorous documentation and stakeholder engagement.

Your Location:

This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager.
