The Avionics Applications Engineering Department is looking for a cheerful, motivated and collaborative Administrative Assistant to primarily support the engineering teams with planning, arranging travel, coordinating calendars, supporting meetings, coordinating and helping with special projects. Additional responsibilities will be to keep up to date with upcoming changes, assisting with rolling out and training any newly introduced computer sites and policies, work closely and collaborate with the other four Administrative Assistants in the Avionics Programs directorate with updates, tasks and organizational events together.   

This is an onsite position based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

 

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Scheduling, maintaining various Calendars, assists in set up of Community of Practice (CoP) meetings.  

  • Travel arrangements and expense report processing, both domestic and complex international.  

  • Collaborating with all levels of Collins Aerospace staff and external people to coordinate activities.  

  • Tracking departmental budgets and assisting leaders in determining budget requirements.  

  • Clarifying policies related to department activities.  

  • Space management and setup for each new employee, loan-in, or contractor.  

  • Updating internal websites and collaboration sites.  

  • Assembling complex data (i.e., tables, charts, reports and memorandums) under general direction.  

  • Attending meetings, seminars, etc., to take notes or furnish information.

  • Identifying, initiating, and coordinating projects to fulfill departmental administrative needs.  

  • Office supply maintenance and ordering.

  • Performs and assists with special projects as required.  

  • Share Drive Steward for department drives, including creating/updating Access Control Plans and SAFE requests for visitors and foreign nationals requiring access.

  • Travel arrangements and expense report processing, both domestic and complex international. 

  • Visa/Passport processing both foreign nationals and US Citizens. 

  • Assembling and coordinating presentations and documents. 

  • Generating and reviewing department files, including highly sensitive or confidential information.  

  • Training, guiding, or assigning work to less experienced administrative staff. 

 

 

Qualifications you must have: 

  • Typically requires HS Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required. https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-22/chapter-I/subchapter-M/part-120/subpart-C/section-120.62
  • Previous administrative experience is required. 

  • Microsoft Office experience required.

This role is also eligible for the Re-Empower Program. The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 83,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays.
