Senior Accountant

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
• Master's Degree, a plus
• 8-10 years or more years experience in the accounting field
• Non-Profit & Fund Accounting Experience preferred
• Supervisory experience a plus
• Excellent organizational skills
• Working knowledge of accounting software, Serenic knowledge a plus
• Proficient in MS Office, especially of Excel
• Analytical ability
• Self-motivated
• Must maintain a high level of confidentiality

In coordination with the Accounting Supervisor, responsible for all phases of accounting related to DHQ Monitored Funds

1. Prepare and enter journal entries as approved by the supervisor of assigned funds.
2. Review assigned funds in the GL for accuracy and anomalies monthly. Share the results of the review with the Finance Secretary and Fiscal Controller.
3. Separate and distribute monthly report printouts on a timely basis.
4. Monthly set up of standard allocation journals for processing.
5. Prepare monthly bank reconciliation for assigned accounts
6. Assist with the preparation of internal and external audits, consolidation, and Annual Command Review
7. Backup to Accounts Receivable Clerk.
8. Prepares all Service Unit reports, including, but not limited to, United Way Reports and Revolving Fund Reports and overview.
9. Assist as assigned on fiscal closing task.
10. Back-up Petty Cash Cashier
11. Perform duties for the Cash-Log in Process.
12. Prepare annual insurance billings
13. Prepare the Balance Sheet Analysis for all DHQ Funds monthly.
14. Research all open items in various funds and complete adjustments on a timely basis.
15. Prepare monthly financial reports for CFC, as requested
16. Process Service Unit Reimbursements and prepare worksheets for UW presentations.
17. Review daily cash balances and transfers to THQ for investments and earned interest.
18. Attend meetings as requested.
19. Perform other related duties as assigned.
