VillageCare is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to assist with high risk complex accounts and month-end close processes. This position will assist with various analyses and requests from management, while providing guidance to other non-Senior Accountants. Some daily activities will include:
- Responsibility for transactions and account balances, such as Medicare Part D accounting, Medicare and Medicaid revenue, IBNR and medical costs.
- Timely and accurate financial statement close (related to assigned accounts/transactions) each month.
- Create and upload journal entries. Appropriately document and support all transactions.
- Prepare month-end reconciliations and analyses for assigned accounts. Perform and document all related internal controls and maintain appropriate evidence.
- Support and provide analysis for statutory reporting.
- Proactively identify inconsistencies, errors, and/or issues and recommend actions/resolution to supervisor.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for assigned areas.
We would like to speak to those who bring a Bachelor's degree, in accounting or finance preferred, or equivalent years of experience. 3 years of general accounting experience required. A mix of public accounting and private industry experience is highly preferred and health plan experience required. Proficiency with Excel is required.
