About the role:
CLA is looking to hire a senior ccountant for our Consulting and Outsourcing practice in Garden City, NY. Our Consulting and Outsourcing service helps our clients transform their business with a collaborative approach that allows them to seamlessly mitigate risk, overcome challenges, meet deadlines, and identify personnel to help them with their workforce needs.
As a Senior Accountant you will:
- Support multiple clients, software, and chart of accounts on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
- Oversee Staff and manage the accounting function for smaller clients.
- Complete account reconciliations (i.e. bank & credit card reconciliations, prepaids, accounts receivable, fixed assets, accounts payable, accruals).
- Complete complex account reconciliations (investments, debt, industry specific, etc.).
- Prepare, understand and review financial statements (basic to complex).
- Perform the review of clients' General Ledger, cashflow, allocations, etc.
- Learn and understand the business/organization operations of the client.
- Create process and procedure documentation.
- Perform other quarterly/annual processes, such as completion of sales tax returns, Form 1099s, audit workpapers, and other forms or items as requested by clients.
- Assist in Special Projects, such as internal audit, due diligence, system selection, and other consulting projects.
What you will need:
- Two to three years of relative work experience as Staff Accountant or equivalent.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field OR associate degree in accounting or related field plus 5 years of accounting experience OR Associates in unrelated field plus Accounting Certificate plus 5 years of accounting experience.
- Technical knowledge of accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Intacct, Xero, Bill.com, Expensify) and other applicable software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
- Experience reviewing and preparing financial statements.
- Public Accounting experience preferred.
- CPA certification preferred but not required.

New York City Posting Range: $77,000 - $109,000. Factors such as geography, experience, education, skills, and knowledge may impact position of pay within the range.
