Job Description
The Sr. Accountant will be responsible for accounting, billing, reconciliation, and supporting cash management activities for the United Pacific business and retail operations in the fuel and convenience store industry. In this role you will support revenue recognition, lease accounting, and perform root cause analysis on variances. In this role you will work closely with the Real Estate and Payroll Department. You will also work on ongoing projects related to accounting guidance changes, process improvement and automation projects.

This is a Hybrid Role. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday are at the Long Beach Office and Monday, Friday are remote.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
· Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process, which includes monthly financial close
· Recurring journal entries maintenance and reconciliation
· Ensure appropriate journal entries are recorded by maintaining sufficient supporting documentation providing a clear audit trail and reconciling balance sheet accounts
· Responsible for balance sheet account reconciliations
· Prepare analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management reporting and outside stakeholders.
· Prepare monthly financial statements and assist with other monthly financial reporting
· Organize and review various financial data, then report it in a manner that is useful and understandable
· Review proper posting of Concur employee and Corporate expenses.
· Conduct analyses and create sub-tenant account accounting administration
· Manages Payroll accounting and ensures proper general ledger posting
· Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required. Master’s degree in related field preferred but not required.
- 5+ years' experience in an accounting and/or auditing function, preferably in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with month end close and associated responsibilities including journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, and analysis
- Financial reporting experience
- PDI and ADP system experience preferred
- Experience and demonstrated strong understanding of GAAP accounting principles
- Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, such as V-look-up, Pivot tables, graphs & charts
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrate ability to meet deadlines (e.g. prior companies)
- Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
