Degenkolb Engineers is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our team in San Francisco.
We’re a leading structural engineering firm with offices on the West Coast and Michigan. What you’ll do:
- Supervise and/or manage general ledger accounting functions.
- Assist in the preparation of our consolidated financials and the annual budget process.
- Prepare monthly financial reports in Microsoft Power BI.
- Manage quarterly revenue projection reporting.
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and monthly and quarterly taxes.
- Prepare the month end Financial Package, JE, account reconciliations, and financial reports.
- Maintain the Fixed Asset Register and Notes Receivable Ledger.
- Maintain Leases Register and software to comply with ASC 842.
- Assist with financial audit activities and the annual corporate financial controls audit.
- Assist with Annual Audit providing support and monitoring requests.
- Assist with ADP payroll processing as needed.
- Perform ad hoc analysis and special projects as requested.
The pay rate for this position generally ranges between $7,700 and $10,000 per month. This range is a good faith estimate provided pursuant to the California Pay Transparency Law. Actual pay rates will be based on various factors, including company geographic differentials, education level and candidate qualifications.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Thorough knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
- Professional verbal and written communication skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Experience with other financial systems.
- Attention to detail and ability to juggle multiple tasks and deadlines with a positive attitude.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA or MBA.
- Experience with AEC360 software.
- Work experience in an architectural or engineering firm.
- Aptitude for problem solving financial discrepancies.
- Interest in making recommendations for process improvements.
