Position Description:
As the Senior Accountant, you are responsible for financial reporting and procedures, general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end review and the support of budget and forecast. Essential Functions
- Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.
- Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close in accordance with GAAP.
- Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly divisional financial information.
- Manage and/or complete all account reconciliations as required with timely investigation and clearing of all reconciling items.
- Ensure the accurate and timely processing of positive pay transactions.
- Assist and supports budget and forecasting activities.
- Collaborates with division managers and leaders to support overall goals and objectives.
- Monitors and analyzes department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Advises staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions; communicate with the Controller when the need arises.
- Responds to inquiries from the Controller, CFO and SCIPI wide managers regarding financial results, special reporting requests and the like.
- Work with the Controller and CFO to ensure a clean and timely year-end Review and other related year-end tasks.
- Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department.
- Cross-Training and providing backup support for AP and AR
- Provide training to new and existing staff as needed.
- Support Controller and CFO with special projects and workflow process improvements.

Required Experience:
- Associates degree in Accounting, or 2-4 years related accounts payable experience in lieu of education Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from an accredited University or Institution.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in Accounting, Financial Reporting/General Ledger role.
Preferred Experience:
- Professional CPA certification
