SSL Law Firm LLP is currently seeking a Senior Accountant to join their Accounting Department. Over time, SSL has expanded its services and now offers a wide range of real estate transactional services, as well as providing expertise in real estate litigation, land use, and environmental matters.

This is a hybrid position that requires you to be in the office Tuesday through Thursday
Duties and Responsibilities:
Cash Management:
- Prepare daily cash availability report;
- Forecast cash needed every month and report to partners
- Prepare daily cash receipts report
- Process deposits and transfers
- Prepare partner draws
Reconciliations:
- Develop spreadsheets and systems to streamline the reconciliation process, especially regarding partner compensation and expense tracking, and trust accounts
- Track and reconcile partner income and expenses through spreadsheet development
- Identify and perform miscellaneous reconciliations on an ad hoc basis
- Perform monthly bank account and petty cash reconciliations
- Perform credit cardholder reconciliations and post from suspense to G/L Accounts
- Perform attorney/client trust account reconciliation
General Ledger
- Review G/L, including detailed analysis (variance) and reconciliation of accounts
- Income statement and balance sheet preparation and review
- Work closely with an outside CPA regarding G/L maintenance
Budgeting/Forecasting
- Make recommendations on how to streamline the budget process
- Forecast expenses and income for the year
- Work closely with partners and outside CPA to update the Firm’s internal working and cash flow budget
Year End
- Function as firm liaison with CPA
- Prepare materials for accountants including information needed to prepare the firm’s compiled financial statements and tax returns
- Provide clarification and address questions from CPA to assist them in the firm’s and partners' tax returns
- Process year-end accountants’ journal entries
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- 7+ years of accounting (law firm or other professional services preferred)
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Strong Excel skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong understanding of federal, state, and local tax regulations
