Senior Accountant - Manufacturing
A leading provider of specialty metal finishing has an opening for a full-time, on-site, Senior Accountant. Exceptional employee focused company with an expansive benefits program and growth opportunity. This job is in Hartford County, Connecticut.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Support most aspects of accounting management
- Maintain an accurate general ledger and create journal entries for all accounts including fixed assets
- Manage weekly payroll process
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations
- Manage Accounts Payable including vendor payments and discrepancy resolution
- Manage Accounts Receivable billing, collections, and reconciliations
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements in compliance with GAAP
- Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and capital requests
- Participate in preparation for audits and physical inventories
- Help in development of reports for management or regulatory bodies
- Review the company’s accounting information to identify and resolve inaccuracies or imbalances
- Assist with preparation of monthly reporting requirements
- All other duties as assigned
Skill & Experience Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting, or associate degree in accounting with relevant work experience
- Experiencing in a manufacturing environment desired
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects/tasks as assigned
- Experience with M1 or other ERP based accounting system is preferred
- Punctual and willing to work extra hours when required
- Comfortable working in a cross-functional team environment
