Senior Accountant

Senior Accountant:

Symes Associates is a North Shore multifaceted real estate development & property management company looking to hire a Senior Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of accounting experience.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Balance sheet reconciliations and related supporting work papers, including accounts receivable, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accrued liabilities and accounts payable.
• Manage coordination with outside tax accountants for tax returns for the company
• Reconcile bank statements, enter cash journal activity into the general ledger
• Daily cash management
• Maintain accrual schedules for balance sheet items
• Maintain depreciation schedules
• Assist in the creation of senior management reports
• Job cost preparation and reconciliation.
• Prepare and post monthly journal entries.
• Prepare month-end reporting packages for upper management
• Other duties as assigned

Key Requirements/Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree
• 5+ years relevant accounting experience (exposure to A/P, A/R, GL & month-end close)
• Experience with development accounting
• Proficiency with MS Office and experience with accounting software
• Detail oriented and accurate
• Personal integrity when working with personal and sensitive financial information
• Takes initiative
• High-level of resourcefulness and problem-solving skills
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize daily tasks and meet timely obligations.
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Experience in consolidating data and effectively presenting data in a team environment, with all levels of management

Salary Range $85,000 to $100,000 - Compensation commensurate with experience
