Your Future Team
We are seeking a successful Senior Staff Accountant who is a multi-tasker at heart, with strong communication skills and a problem-solving mindset that succeeds in a fast-paced and evolving organization. You will be within a team of three and reporting directly to the Expense Accounting Manager. This group is a sub-team within the larger Controllership function that has over twenty individuals and is part of the larger finance department organization. Our ideal candidate performs at a high level under variable workloads within the expense team. As a growing company, opportunities for internal growth and career development are plentiful.
What You’ll Do
- Serve as a Hightower brand ambassador by upholding The Hightower Way cultural elements – Mission, Purpose, V.A.L.U.E. Experience, Commitment and Standards, promoting excellence in the internal and external client experience during every encounter
- Improve consistency in every client and colleague encounter by embodying the core principles of our Hightower V.A.L.U.E. Experience (Validate, Actively Listen, Leverage Resources, Understand Ownership, Express Gratitude)
- Partner with cross-discipline team members to support collaboration and promote a positive client experience
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements
- Analyze financial data and trends to provide meaningful insights and recommendations to the management team
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure accuracy and completeness of all financial transactions and records
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial data and information flow across the organization
- Conduct thorough financial analysis to support strategic decision-making and operational improvements
- Coordinate and support annual financial audits, ensuring all audit requirements and inquiries are met in a timely and accurate manner
- Streamline financial processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy, implementing best practices to optimize financial operations
- Assist in the development of annual budgets and forecasts, working closely with department heads to ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives
- Monitor budget variances and provide recommendations for cost management and efficiency improvements
- Propose improvements to internal controls to mitigate risks and maintain compliance
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment
- Identify trends, opportunities, and risks, and recommend actions to enhance financial performance
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- CPA Certification
- 5+ years of relevant experience in accounting and finance, with a focus on financial reporting and analysis
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards (GAAP, IFRS).
- Proficient in accounting software (ERP systems)
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
