SalarySummary: Provides services to individuals with development disabilities enrolled in Self Direction. People seeking Self-Hired Respite DSPs interview, select the staff they want to hire, and co-manage the Self-Hired Staff with the Fiscal Intermediary Agency. Self-Hired staff will provide relief for in-home caregivers and support for individuals with developmental disabilities. Completes and maintains all required documentation for billing, including daily notes and daily data sheets. Assures safety and oversight of Individuals through completion of risk assessment, managed activities and ongoing home visits. Must have a valid New York State Driver's License, a reliable and properly insured vehicle to transport service recipients as required.
Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalency required. Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the abilities and knowledge for successful performance will be considered. May be required to lift up to 35 pounds. Must successfully complete all required training including but not limited to First Aid/CPR, SCIP (Strategies for Crisis Intervention and Prevention) and Medication Administration. Must be able to lift, move and transfer up to 35 pounds. Subject to background checks including but not limited to being fingerprinted/criminal history record check, NYS Child Abuse Registry, OPWDD Staff Exclusion List and Mental Health Law 16.34. Must meet LAI Vehicle Operator Requirements.
