JOB TITLE:SEL Program Facilitator
DEPARTMENT: Mental Health & Social-Emotional Learning
REPORTS TO: Director of Mental Health & Wellness
FLSA STATUS: ☑Exempt □Non-Exempt
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Under the direct guidance of the Director of Mental Health & Wellness, the SEL Program Facilitator has the primary responsibility of delivering social-emotional programming.
KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):
- Engage actively with groups of youth in aftercare and/or summer camp in skill-building, psychoeducational, and supportive activities aimed at increasing their psychological well-being and social-emotional functioning.
- Keep accurate documentation of all activities, being mindful of confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement new activities, projects, and ideas for educating youth about mental wellness.
- Collect and analyze data on progress and outcomes
- Contribute to ideas for staff training on mental health challenges, being trauma-informed, sensitivity to diversity, and other related topics.
- Contribute to ideas for fund-raisers, advocacy, and more.
- Participate in regular individual and group supervision and SEL Team meetings.
- Contribute to the daily non-social work activities of the Club when needed.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
- Bachelors degree in education, social work, psychology, or related field required
- Two (2) years of experience working with children
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent adherence to structure while being able to maintain flexibility
- Ability to perform well under pressure
- Excellent written and oral communication and collaboration skills
- Proficient in Google Workspace and/or MS Office (Excel, Access, Word etc.)
- Highly motivated self-starter
