Posting Summary:Assist in facilitating software development in the domain of serious gaming including using Unity and Unreal Engines, high performance computing and data base management implementation to accomplish the goals of federally funded research projects; use judgment in determining work priorities, solving problems, and in administration of operational and technical processes and procedures. Provide technical support services; coordinate server and host operating systems, coordinate training, and monitor system security. Support activities for implementation of procedural and/or system enhancements, solutions, or modifications; support preparation of documentation and administrative reports related to protocols and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience):Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field and one to three yearsof experience in C#, Unity, or Unreal Development; High Performance Computing and database management, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Desirable Qualifications:Expertise in parallelization and cluster computing.
Anticipated Pay Range:$47,000 to $55,000
Other Information:Actual hiring pay dependent on comparable campus peer(s) at time of hire, and candidate’s experience level and length.
Special Conditions:Bargaining unit position, External candidates must complete a 4-month probationary period, Contingent on continued funding, Occasional evening and/or weekends required (if non-exempt position, may result in overtime), A probationary period may be required for current UVM employees, This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule with an option to split time between campus and elsewhere, in accordance with the university telecommuting policy, Background Check required for this position
