Program Overview
LAUNCH is a 5-week freshman internship program focused on training, development, mentorship, and networking, while providing students with exposure to senior leaders across Capital Markets. This program will provide you with the opportunity to learn about different areas in Capital Markets including Investment Banking, Corporate Banking and Global Markets.

  • One Week Training and Orientation - learn about BMO, our Employee Resource Groups and the foundations of Investment Banking, Global Markets and Corporate Banking

  • Technical Training - a learning program including Wall Street Prep courses on finance, accounting, Investment Banking, Corporate Banking, Global Markets, and an excel crash course

  • Mentorship Program - receive mentors from Investment Banking, Corporate Banking and Global Markets and meet with them on a weekly basis

  • Networking - we will provide you with networking opportunities including senior leadership exposure through various events, social gatherings with your cohort, and networking events with various business representatives

  • Soft Skill Development - including communication skills, presentation skills, building a personal brand etc.

  • Capstone Project - complete a case study over your 5-week term with an assigned group and present to Senior leaders within Capital Markets

Eligibility Criteria:
  • You are a freshman student at an accredited U.S. College/University, currently enrolled in an undergraduate program with a graduation date of December 2026 or Spring 2027
  • You identify as: Female, Black, Hispanic/Latino, Visible minority, LGBTQ+, Persons with disabilities, Veteran
  • You are available to work full-time from June-July 2024
  • You have a minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0
  • You are a U.S. citizen, permanent resident of U.S., or an individual who is legally authorized to work in the U.S. and will not require sponsorship in the future

Compensation & Benefits:
Annual base salary: $65,000 - $70,000. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the BMO Financial Group's salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.
The base salary and potential bonus is one component of BMO Financial Group's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards and benefits include health insurance, tuition reimbursement, accident and life insurance, and retirement savings plans. Provides a combination of deep industry sector expertise, innovative thinking in a team-based approach and world class execution across a full suite of products to clients through an integrated Capital Markets platform using a sector ecosystem approach. Collaborates to generate creative, client-focused solutions to prospective and current clients.
  • Develops written internal and external marketing on pitch material.
  • Supports deal teams in development, presentation, and winning mandates.
  • Seeks to develop an understanding of client needs and outcomes.
  • Provides materials to support an outstanding client experience.
  • Identifies opportunities for increased efficiency and improved service to internal and external clients.
  • Provides analytical findings to deal teams.
  • Supports the execution of strategic initiatives in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Ensures alignment between stakeholders.
  • Completes quality reports/analyses.
  • Researches and analyzes company and industry financial and operating information.
  • Performs complex financial modeling and runs valuation analysis as part of client / industry evaluations.
  • Creates statistical exhibits and financial performance trend analysis for client presentations.
  • Applies technical concepts and understands implication of work to client/transaction.
  • Develops an understanding of and proficiency in using all required systems and models.
  • Provides feedback on, and supports continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Integrates information from multiple sources to enable more efficient processes, enhanced analysis, and/or streamlined reporting.
  • Delivers financial modeling to support strategic recommendations to clients.
  • Considers risk, internal controls and compliance as part of day-to-day accountabilities and adheres to policies and procedures.

Qualifications:
  • Typically between 3 - 5 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • An undergraduate degree with academic coursework in finance, economics, or accounting and an outstanding academic achievement.
  • Financial analysis training and experience.
  • 0 - 3 years of successive relevant experience within investment and/or corporate banking experience based on business requirements.
  • Highly skilled in building complex financial models.
  • Expertise in financial computer applications and database management tools.
  • Skilled in creating statistical presentations.
  • Specialized knowledge from education and/or business experience.
  • Verbal & written communication skills - In-depth.
  • Collaboration & team skills - In-depth.
  • Analytical and problem solving skills - In-depth.
  • Influence skills - In-depth.

Compensation and Benefits:
The base salary represents BMO Financial Group's hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked.
