Seed Sales Specialist

Job Description:

AgriSource, Inc. has an opening for a Seed Sales Specialist to primarily cover South Eastern Idaho. This position requires a self-motivated individual who has a passion for agriculture in Southern Idaho. At AgriSource, Inc. we strive to create value for our customers by bringing on-farm service and the highest performing seed products. The Seed Sales Specialist is responsible for developing and maintaining customer relationships, selling seed products, coordinating research projects and on-farm trials, and monitoring local seed production fields.

Key Responsibilities.

- Develop and strengthen critical relationships with grower customers, internal sales team, local management, and suppliers. Work to promote a culture of teamwork within the company. Market and sell seed products through demonstrating value to the grower customer. Evaluate effectiveness of sales effort and identify areas for improvement.

- Work with management team to develop and implement area seed marketing plan, forecast product demand, set sales goals, and manage seed product portfolio. Communicate with the sales team and management regarding market activity. Manage seed inventory and product deliveries to assigned customers.

- Take an active role in designing and implementing focused research projects and development of new products. Test and evaluate performance of new and existing seed varieties. Inspect seed production fields and advise growers on best practices to achieve the highest quality seed crop.

- Safe operation of company vehicles and warehouse equipment as needed.

Education & Experience

HS Diploma / GED and +3 years agriculture sales/agronomy experience

Idaho Pesticide Applicators License (or ability to get within 6 months)

Preferred: Associate/Bachelor Degree in Agriculture or Agronomy related field.

Preferred: Commercial Driver’s License.

Other Information

Have knowledge of or ability to quickly become proficient with key Southern Idaho crops such as: wheat, barley, corn, cover crops and alfalfa. Knowledge of western U.S. crop and forage production. Experience in seed production policies and practices preferred. Certified Crop Advisor designation beneficial.

Necessary Skills: Superior written and verbal communication skills. Relationship management. Attention to detail. Self-motivated and ability to work independently with a minimum of supervision. Computer literacy including Microsoft office. Strong observation skills. Strong ability to influence and demonstrate value. Able to work effectively with a variety of personalities, diverse cultures, and market areas. Demonstrated leadership.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
