We're hiring a high energy, reliable and experienced, Full-Time Field Technical Support Specialist to support the security integrations industry! The person in this position will maintain the responsibilities for technology installation at a variety of sites under a key client.

Job Summary:

Field Technical Support Specialist will provide first level support to our clients and dealers and second level support to our Field Technicians located within North America. The ideal candidate has extensive field experience in the installation and commissioning of EAS & RFID systems. The candidate must be customer-centric and measure success by both positive results and the positive impression that they leave the customer with. The candidate will be working from the Global Retail office and reporting directly to the Service Manager and shall be capable of working with minimal direction.

 

Qualifications

Requirements

1.     5+ years of experience in commercial installation and service of IP video, analog video, access control and intrusion detection systems.

2.     Strong knowledge and troubleshooting experience with Access Control and CCTV systems

3.     Familiarity or certification in Lenel, Milestone, Genetec Access/Video, Cloud-based Access/Video products.

4.     Understanding of structured cabling basics and troubleshooting.

5.     Understanding of electrified locks and troubleshooting.

6.     Strong knowledge of IP and networking concepts.

7.     Valid state driver's license without restrictions

8.     Ability to pass pre-employment screenings (drug, background, and driving history).

9.     Up to 50+% travel, as necessary which may include air travel.

10.  Effective communication skills.

11.  Local Low Voltage Licensing is a plus.

Some of these Key Tasks:

The Field Technical Support Specialist (FTSS) will be responsible for design support, small installs and service support for an assigned region. They will work closely with Security Project Manager (SPM), Service Technical Manager (STM) and Security Design Engineer (SDE) and will report to the Senior Operations Manager for Technology (SOM)

  • The FTSS will assist with responsibility for the security project once instructed by the SPM.
  • The FTSS will join (where necessary) the project specific conference calls.
  • The FTSS will ensure that the project is delivered as per the clientele's detailed scope of works.
  • The FTSS is responsible for technical commissioning and completing a quality control audit of the new security system with the SPE.
  • The FTSS will verify and accept the as installed documentation to ensure accuracy.
  • The FTSS will support the SPM with small works requests and day to day maintenance/service requests before project turnover to the Maintenance Manager.
  • The FTSS shall understand how to field dress and terminate head end devices (i.e., ACP, IAP, NVR etc.)
  • The FTSS shall be able to identify the requirements for the security system to interface with the site and/or bldg. systems
  • The FTSS shall have a competent understanding of Structured Cabling Systems and Fiber Optic Cabling.
  • The FTSS shall have a strong understanding of: Access Control Systems design and implementation, CCTV design and implementation.
  • The FTSS shall have a competent understanding of Construction Projects, Job Safety Training, and is expected to assess site conditions in various phases of construction to anticipate milestones that are key to success of Security Systems installations\The FTSS shall support service calls in their region during regular business hours and on occasion, evenings and weekend work for emergency calls.
  • The FTSS shall support local sales reps with site walks and basic design layout which will be provided to design engineers for estimate generation.
