Job Description
Pay Range: $19-28 per hour based on experience
The Security Systems Technician will be responsible for the following:
Access Control System
- Conduct maintenance on the access readers
- Replace and configure new access readers in C-Cure
- Maintain and replace mag locks when required
- Maintain the I Star Panel, replace boards when necessary
Camera System
- Conduct maintenance on cameras
- Troubleshoot the camera system
- Add camers to the existing system and configure the DVRs
- Troubleshoot / Replace DVRs when needed
Duress System
- Test the Duress System
- Replace duress buttons when necessary
Maintain Gate Arms
- Troubleshoot gate arms when they are inoperable
- Replace gate arms when needed
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
- Configure and maintain the access control and video systems. Including card readers, electronic door hardware, cameras, panic devices, gate hardware, intercom/phone devices, etc.
- Act as a representative of the client when dealing with outside contractors on security device installations and repairs.
- Assemble and program new security panels and equipment to ensure proper functionality and operation.
- Service and trouble shoot systems based on approved guidelines and standards.
- Read and follow installation prints and diagrams.
- Respond to trouble and occasional emergency after-hours calls.
- Mounting and terminating field devices (i.e. Card Readers, Door Hardware, Cameras) as required.
- Maintain records by documenting installation and maintenance activity.
- Maintain customer rapport by resolivng concerns, answering questions.
- Maintain safe and secure work environment by following safe practices, keeping security information confidential.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
- Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for new and varied requests.
Qualifications & Skills
Education: High school education or equivalent required. An associates degree in elctronics or engineering field preferred.
Experience: A minimum of 1 year Security Systems technician experience or 3 years experience in a related field.
- Requires a strong mechanical aptitude and trouble shooting skills, working knowledge of field electronics, computer hardware, software and data networks.
- Ability to work independently.
- Running, stripping, and terminating cables.
- AC and DC voltage knowledge.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Office products.
- Experience with LENEL OnGuard essential
- AutoCAD software beneficial.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ease with both telephone and in-person contacts.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, including ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Must have a valid driver's license. Minimal travel between the local facilities is required.
Grade Levels :
- Level 1: Untrained/ In house training
- Level 2: Lenel Direct Support/VAR CORE Certification and 1+years of experience.
- Level 3: Lenel Direct Support/VAR Professional Certification and 3+ years of experience.
- Level 4 Lenel Direct Support
