Under general direction of the Information Technology (IT) Manager I, the incumbent serves as the Application Security technical specialist (lead) and Senior Developer for the application development activities and supporting processes of the California Department of Insurance (CDI) within the Microsoft Technologies scope. The incumbent reviews application/system architecture, configuration, and changes to ensure that they are incompliance within information security policies and procedures. This position performs functions that fall within the Information Technology domain of Information Security Engineering. The Information Technology Specialist II (ITS II) is responsible for validating that software solutions adhere to cybersecurity principles when designed, built and implemented and helps ensure end-to-end security from product inception through end-of-life. The ITS II must understand a range of disciplines, from base operating systems and middleware services to APIs, application security, cloud services and databases.
Occasional travel may be required within and/or outside the state of California via private or public transportation (i.e., automobile, airplane, etc.). Travel may include overnight stay. Overtime may be required.

Working Conditions
- Must be able to work in a high-rise building
- Ability to transport documents and/or equipment up to 15-25 lbs., i.e. laptop computer, files, reference manuals, solicitation documents, etc.

Desirable Qualifications In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:
- Experience with review of application/system architecture, configuration, and changes to ensure that they are complying within information security policies and procedures;
- Must have a minimum of four (4) years of experience, within the last five (5) years, of active senior level development experience with Microsoft Dynamics CRM;
- Must have a minimum of three (3) years of experience with systems integration;
- Must have a minimum of three (3) years, within the last five (5) years of experience with CRM deployment;
- At least one year working with Azure File Storage;
- Experience with SharePoint integration, Azure Cloud Storage Integration, MS Office customization(s);
- Experience working as a team lead;
- Must understand a range of Information Technology disciplines: operating systems, middleware services, APIs, application security, cloud services, databases, application security design.
