Are you who we are looking for?
We are currently seeking an alarm Service Technician for a full-time position, M-F 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM. The ideal applicant will have previous alarm industry experience doing service or installation work. The technician will operate out of our Amherst office. We provide the service vehicle, uniform and all tools and equipment except standard hand tools.

Essential Job Functions
- Provide support for all aspects of service including inspection, maintenance, testing, repair and programming. This includes the proper running of wires, termination of devices, mounting of devices and sensors, and any other tasks necessary to facilitate the work being performed.
- A good working knowledge of alarm, CCTV, access control, audio, and other related systems is necessary.
- Intermediate operational use of popular security, fire alarm, CCTV, access control, audio/video, and other related systems is necessary.
- Troubleshoot security, fire alarm, access control, CCTV, audio/video, central vacuum and other low voltage systems to diagnose problems and providing accurate solutions.
- Ability to make programming changes on standard systems using a keypad, programmer or laptop computer.
- Keeps truck and office work space clean, neat and organized.
- Performs clerical duties in support of the job, such as filing out service tickets.
- Handles all duties with accuracy and detail.
- Attends Amherst Alarm sponsored training classes to improve knowledge of installation techniques, equipment setup and programming.
- Maintains a good working relationship with other Amherst Alarm employees.
- Take part in the normal on-call rotation for emergency after-hours service.
- Attends scheduled meetings to receive updates on products, methods, procedures, and any changes at Amherst Alarm.
- Continually seeks opportunities for professional growth.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Must have a current NYS driver's license and a good driving record.
- A minimum of 3 years of hands on experience in the alarm industry is preferred.
