Omni-Serv is in search of Full-TimeSecurity Screening Officers for Newark Liberty International Airport. We are looking for candidates who can maintain a professional demeanor, are team players, and have a positive and “can do” attitude.
Scope of work
These individuals are among the elite security operation working at Newark International Airport. The successful candidates will be required to perform tasks including the screening of passengers, conducting security checks on luggage and cargo, monitoring security measures, use excellent customer service skills, and ensuring a safe and respectful environment for all passengers. Each shift is set to run a duration of no less than ten (10) hours, providing a four (4) day work schedule.
***Work Shift: 1:30 pm – 12:00 am, days off will vary depending on the assigned work schedule***
Responsibilities include but not limited to
- Screen passengers and luggage.
- Observe and report suspicious activities and behaviors.
- Protect the areas to which they are assigned.
- Enforce rules and regulations as set forth by the Port Authority
- Maintain an operationally efficient post and help people who require assistance or information, provided doing so does not distract from or prevent successful completion of security services.
- Report unclaimed or unattended property.
- Make full reports to supervisors of all unusual circumstances.
- Continually perform normal and additional assigned job duties during emergencies as directed by the Manager.
- Report to appropriate personnel hazardous conditions identified during the performance of their duties.
- Maintain a log of activity occurring during shift making note of unusual incidents or activity.
- Perform all other specific responsibilities and duties as required by the Manager.
- A minimum of 2 years of security experience.
- Must have excellent communication skills and be able to provide a positive customer service experience.
- Must have an active SORA security license (physical card).
- Must be willing to stand for long periods of time.
- This position does require security guards to work indoors as well as outdoors, in addition to potential inclement weather and elements (rain, snow, heat, cold)
- This is a Department of Transportation regulated position which will require a negative pre-employment drug test to be hired.
