As cyber-attacks have become more sophisticated, MDE helps enterprises detect, investigate, and automatically disrupt advanced attacks and data breaches on their networks. Our research team brings knowledge of the attacker landscape and tradecraft to create innovations necessary to uncover and protect against even the most well-funded attacker. Responsibilities
- Identify & incubate proof-of-concepts leveraging your security research background and Generative AI technologies to help assist and scale threat research related tasks
- Learn about and counter the most pressing cyber threats that our customers face
- Collaborate with partner Research and Data Science teams to bring new ideas and technology to customers
- Drive research process and tooling improvements discovered through the process of threat research to enable automated protection, combining alerts and signals from across the Security ecosystem.
Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in relevant field AND 1+ year(s) related research experience
o OR equivalent experience.
- 1+ years of experience in computer security industry with knowledge of threat hunting, incident response and security operations.
- 1+years of experience analyzing security incidents and malware at scale with systems like Az Data Lake, Az Synapse, SQL, Kusto etc.
- 1+ year of experience applying Generative AI and LLM technologies to improve protection features and automate researcher workflows
Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred/ Additional Qualifications:
- 1+ year of demonstrated experience in conducting research data studies, including ability to work with big data to drive improvements with engineering teams.
- 1+ year of experience with Azure Data Factories, Azure Functions, Azure DevOps pipelines, Jupyter notebooks
- 2+ years of experience with security operation, automation and response (SOAR) technologies that span investigation and response automation across diverse security tool integration.
- 3+ years of experience coding in C# / Python
- 3+ years of experience in computer security industry with knowledge of threat hunting, incident response and security operations.
- 2+years of experience analyzing security incidents and malware at scale with systems like Az Data Lake, Az Synapse, SQL, Kusto etc.
Research Sciences IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,300 - $182,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $120,900 - $198,600 per year.
