Description:
The main purpose of this position is to provide security to the Werner Corporate Headquarters personnel against fire, water, electrical and safety hazards, theft, vandalism and illegal entry.
Responsibilities:
- Patrols and monitors the main office complex and all outlying properties near Corporate HQ. (50%)
- Examines doors, windows, and gates to determine that they are secure. (5%)
- Warns violators of rule infractions such as loitering, smoking, and missing employee badge, and documents the incident. (2%)
- Watches for and reports irregularities, such as fire hazards, leaking pipes, and security doors left unlocked. (5%)
- Inspects security equipment to ascertain if tampering has occurred. (3%)
- Observes departing personnel to guard against theft of company property. (10%)
- Sounds alarm or calls police/fire/rescue by telephone in case of fire or presence of unauthorized personnel. (5%)
- May record data, such as property damage, unusual occurrences, and malfunctioning of machinery or equipment, for use of supervisory staff. (5%)
- May regulate vehicle and pedestrian traffic at main office parking areas. (5%)
- Escorts and assists employees, escorts terminated employees from the building, and checks the identification of building visitors during non-working hours and working hours. (5%)
- Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisory personnel. (5%)
- Armed at all times while working and has, or can obtain, a valid NE CCW permit.
Qualifications:
- High school graduate or equivalent experience.
- Six months to one year of security experience preferred.
- Six months of PC experience including Windows.
- Certification in CPR preferred.
- Skill in operating a PC including Windows.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Must possess a valid Nebraska CCW (concealed carry weapons) permit or hold a valid HR-218 or be a currently certified Nebraska Law Enforcement Officer.
- Must perform and display firearms safety and proficiency in a quarterly held firearm shoot with the Corporate Security Manager.
- Must meet the criminal background criteria of the Company.
