The Security Manager is coordinating and overseeing Security Operations and Security Officers for the hospital. This position is also responsible maintaining peer relations, directing, coordinating and overseeing all activities of the Security staff, including hiring, supervisory development, training and operations functions. The Security Manager is also tasked to meet or exceed financial and operational goals; provide quality customer service. Maintains maintenance of weekly operating schedules for assigned personnel. Provide after-hour emergency response as required. The Security Manager is also responsible for the safety and security of the facility they protect. They protect life and property of patients, visitors and staff. They act as a visible deterrent to crime and hospital rule infractions, as well as detect and report suspicious, unsafe or criminal acts at or near their assigned posts, which may be a threat to the property, clients or employees of the hospital. They are responsible for patrolling the hospital buildings and grounds to prevent fire, theft and vandalism. They are responsible for securing, unlocking and protecting hospital buildings. They are responsible for responding to the security needs of patients, visitors and staff.
Education:
Post-secondary school preferred. High school diploma or equivalent required. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Experience:
Minimum of three (3) years security related experience required. Excellent customer service, organizational and management skills required.
Licenses/Certificates:
Class D Security License required.
CPI (nonviolent de-escalation) training within 60 days of hire/start date.
Valid driver’s license required.
