JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Security Patrol Officer
SUMMARY: The Security Patrol Officer is responsible to ensure guests, tenants and employees at King of Prussia Mall have a positive experience by providing expert security patrol and unparalleled service related to non-emergency and emergency response, protection of life and property, loss prevention and guest relations.
POST REQUIREMENTS: Requirements to be assigned to King of Prussia Mall Security Department.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Must wear the full assigned uniform in accordance with the uniform policy.
- Must be clean shaven.
- Hair must be short cropped or placed in a bun.
- Fingernails must be natural in color and trimmed.
- Tattoos must not be visible while in uniform. This means no tattoos on the face, neck, or hands.
- This post entails continuous walking and active movement.
POST PREFERENCES: Preference will be given to candidates who meet these standards in addition to the minimum qualifications outlined in Post Requirements.
- Possesses a valid PA driver's license for a minimum of 1 year.
- Has a clean driving record and able pass an MVR check.
- Interest in Law Enforcement.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Functions actually performed on the job that are applied universally to all employees in this particular job function and if removed would fundamentally alter the job.
- Observe patrol area for suspicious behavior, Code of Conduct violations, tenant lease violations, disorderly or illegal activities, missing or wanted persons and hazardous conditions.
- Enforce KOP Mall rules and policies, known as the Code of Conduct, as well as state and local statutes.
- Interact with guests, tenants, emergency services personnel, mall management, and the general public.
- Interview witnesses, complainants, and suspects.
- Deter criminal or destructive behavior by maintaining a highly visible patrol presence on KOP Mall property; this includes regular patrols of mall common areas, service corridors and parking areas.
- Provide outstanding guest service at all times. This may include but is not limited to providing directions or assisting in the location of lost persons or vehicles.
- Respond and appropriately deal with life threatening emergencies or incidents as directed. This may include but is not limited to medical emergencies, addressing combative or disorderly guests, intoxicated persons, reporting persons committing illegal acts, and motor vehicle accidents.
- Utilize quick decision-making skills and sound judgment acting in accordance with KOP Security policy and procedure as well as state and local statutes.
- Write detailed and accurate reports as required, including incident, accident or personal injury reports.
- May be assigned to the following areas: vehicle, bike, or foot patrol; special events conducting crowd control or VIP protection; or stationary posts monitoring access to restricted areas.
- Ensure proper radio traffic which includes keeping Dispatchers and Supervisors informed of all pertinent incidents and activities according to department guidelines.
- Request Police, Fire or EMS services as necessary. Conduct periodic safety/fire inspections as assigned, issue parking violation tickets, conduct traffic direction, and ensure the overall safety of the immediate work area as well as surrounding areas. Uphold high personal and professional standards as set forth by the KOP Security Department
- Perform other duties as assigned and directed.

As a Security Officer, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Commercial Real Estate, Healthcare, Education, Government and more.
Responsibilities:
- Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out safety and security procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem solving manner
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter. Working environments and conditions may vary by client site.
Minimum Requirements:
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years of verifiable experience
