Job Purpose: Provides hospital security including- loss prevention, asset protection, personnel protection, parking and traffic control, facility access control, and emergency response. Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements: High school diploma or GED equivalent. BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days. Class C driver license. Must have or obtain within 14 days of hire date a Non-Commissioned Security License: The employee must not have been convicted of a Class B misdemeanor or of greater offense.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Conducts routine patrol and takes necessary action to ensure facility security and safety.
- Responds to calls for assistance and addresses issues of concern to ensure the safety and security of hospital staff, visitors, and property.
- Properly uses and maintains vehicle, keys, equipment, and work areas.
- Demonstrates diligence in documenting work activity by utilizing departmental forms and reports.
- Responds to emergency code calls, alarms, and drills quickly, and takes appropriate action
- Communicates with police or fire departments in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons.
- Operates vehicle in a safe manner by utilizing strobe lights, staying alert, and driving at speeds under 10 mph.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
