Security Manager

The Building Security Manager will work as a member of a cross-functional, agile team to plan and oversee security for at Minute Maid park; ensuring a safe and secure environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Supervise the 24-Hour Security contract, including but not limited to: implementing Houston Astros Security and Safety Procedures, reviewing scheduling, providing Officer in-briefs and counseling, reviewing and maintaining shift reports, incident reports, ensuring the safety of all Security Officers and ensuring 24-Hour Policies and Procedures standards are met
• Maintain proficiency level of 24-Hour Security staff, including training the guards on new procedures and various areas of responsibilities, ensure refresher training on existing responsibilities and procedures and maintaining security equipment is completed
• Work closely with the Director of Security to implement Access Control Procedures for visitor and contractor access logs, including game day and non-game day credentials
• Develop and maintain Emergency Response Plan
• Maintain proficiency level for Houston Astros personnel in selected areas, including but not limited to; preparing and presenting New Hire Orientation security briefing and preparing and conducting training on the layout and use of the Emergency Response Plan for the Houston
• Astros
• Act as a part of the investigation team on breach of security issues and report all significant losses or suspected losses of Houston Astros property to the Director of Security
• Report immediately all threats to Houston Astros personnel and property, and acts of violence to the Director of Security
• Effectively represent the Houston Astros in relationships with employees, tenants, visitors and guests
• Work with local and state law enforcement agencies, fire agencies and community groups
• Establish and maintain programs to control the safeguarding of confidential information
• Supervise the site fire prevention and protection program and operate under a Unified Command System, if possible, in emergency situations
• Create and implement KPI for security, loss prevention, and other operational areas
• At times will need to travel, assisting the team or corporate executives
• Perform all other duties assigned by the Director of Security

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree preferred, previous role in Law Enforcement or 8+ years' experience as Security Manager or similar position
• Working knowledge of emergency management equipment, tools and vehicles
• Experience using security relevant technology and equipment (e.g. CCTV, Access control)
• Experience in reporting and emergency response planning
• Excellent knowledge of security protocols and procedures
• Solid understanding of budgeting and statistical data analysis
• Working knowledge of MS Office
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Outstanding organizational and leadership skills
• Committed and reliable

Work Environment
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Position will work in an office and stadium environment. The noise level is usually moderate but can be loud within the stadium environment. Must be able to work in all types of outdoor weather conditions and within a stadium environment.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This role requires the ability to regularly stand, walk long distance, talk, hear, use hands to handle or feel, and climb stairs. This position also requires the ability to lift up to 25 pounds, on occasion.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule, including; extended hours, evenings, weekend and holidays.
Travel
Limited travel is expected in this role.
