General Summary
Ensures a safe and secured environment for North Island Credit Union’s corporate headquarters by being the physical gatekeeper of the location; enforces security measures; complies with North Island’s safety and security policies; and, responds to employee and/or tenant inquiries and requests relating to security matters.
Principal Accountabilities (95%)
This position is the first point of physical contact for North Island’s corporate office/headquarters for employees, tenants, and visitors. Meets and greets visitors to the building and ensures authorized entry.
Assists guests, visitors, employees and tenants by responding timely to requests and inquiries. Responds to calls, emergencies, and alarms. Approaches all interactions and encounters with employees, tenants and visitors in a professional and service-oriented manner.
Assists with the investigation of accidents, incidents or similar occurrences. Maintains a high level of confidentiality with respect to guest, tenant and employee incidents.
Maintains a high standard of professional appearance, in compliance with the credit union’s dress code and grooming standards. Name tag during work hours is required.
Verifies visitor access with proper identification validation or by the use of visitor logs and/or similar tracking system as defined by manager. Complies with the credit union’s safety and security procedures.
Monitors building access controls and video systems. Works closely with North Island’s Facilities Technician relating to daily lock and unlock procedures; building activities; and, responding to emergency calls.
Assists with North Island’s annual fire drills at headquarters.
Secondary Accountabilities (5%)
- Performs other duties as assigned, including providing backup support to Administrative Services and other areas of the department as assigned.
- Complies with BSA requirements as commensurate with position.
Position Requirement and Qualifications
Abilities:
Excellent abilities in: customer service, communication, interpersonal skills, composure, problem-solving, time-management, and maintaining confidentiality. Able to review and analyze data on security systems to provide information and recommendations to manager.
Knowledge, Education, Certifications, Licenses:
Knowledge of safety and security controls, systems, regulations and policies. Related certifications and college coursework preferred. A valid driver’s license and ability to drive the credit union’s vehicle also required. Must be able to pass background check and driver license’s check.
Experience:
Requires a minimum of two to three years in the capacity of a front desk security position or equivalent. Law enforcement or military background or related field and experience preferred.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands
Work is performed in both a general office and some outdoors environment. Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs.
