Security Inspector

Job Title: Part-Time/On-Call Security Officer - Inactive Ships Facility

Location: Inactive Ships On-site Maintenance Office, Pearl Harbor, HI

Job Overview: We are currently seeking a Part-Time/On-Call Security Officer to provide surveillance and ensure the security of our facility and inactive vessels at the Inactive Ships On-site Maintenance Office. As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for conducting patrols, monitoring security systems, controlling access, and promptly reporting any emergency situations. This is a weekday position requiring attention to detail and adherence to security protocols.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular patrols to ensure the security and cleanliness of piers, ships, craft, perimeter fencing, and facility grounds and buildings.
• Control access to the facility and limit entry to authorized personnel only.
• Notify the Project Manager, COR (Contracting Officer's Representative), and appropriate authorities in case of emergency situations.
• Execute both verbal and written orders accurately and efficiently.
• Perform extended foot patrols and physical tasks such as climbing, crouching, kneeling, stooping, and climbing ladders as required.
• Inspect mooring lines, check draft readings, and monitor fire/flooding alarm indicator lights on vessels through visual inspection and remote monitoring systems
• Work outdoors and be exposed to various weather conditions.
• Maintain a clean, professional appearance at all times.

Requirements:

• Must have a clean, well-kept, professional appearance.
• Monitor the Remote Terminal Unit (RTU) and immediately report any alarms to the Duty Manager and Project Manager.
• Monitor video surveillance cameras and related equipment.
• Ensure that only authorized employees and visitors access the site.
• Log all visitors and provide appropriate visitor badges based on specific requirements (e.g., escort required, non-citizen, etc.).
• Adhere to all corporate core values, policies, and procedures.
• Collaborate effectively with co-workers in a professional manner.
• Perform Morning/Evening Colors as scheduled.
• Be available for potential overtime requirements.

Supervision:

• Directly supervised by the Quality Assurance/Inspections Manager.
• Indirectly supervised by the Project Manager.

Responsibilities and Authority:

• Maintain a positive and effective working relationship with all employees.
• Handle materials or products as assigned by the Ship Maintenance Supervisor.
• Utilize government-furnished property, equipment, and materials.
• No monetary responsibility.
• Maintain professional business contacts with internal personnel, military personnel, sub-contractors, and government representatives.

Qualifications:

• Minimum: Must demonstrate attentiveness, observation skills, and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Preferred: Military or law enforcement background.

General Information:

• The ability to remain attentive and observant at all times is essential for this position.

Required Knowledge:

• General security and access practices.

Security Clearance:

• Extensive background check is required.
