Job description

Doorman / Security is the first impression of the property. Assist guests with unloading vehicles and entering the property. Ensures that guest needs are met by closely monitoring an assigned area. Assists guests with questions about the property. Executes security duties on an assigned shift to adequately protect our guests as well as our team members, and the property. Files reports and monitors the property for a safe environment. Reports all safety hazards and suspicious activity. Must provide excellent guest service & treat guest and team members in a professional manner. Monitors all event activities to ensure adherence to rules and safety procedures. In some circumstances, the Doorman / Security officer may also be assigned responsibility for a specific area of the property. Attends periodic meetings and training sessions. Welcomes and greets arriving and departing guests. Proactively provides our guests with personal service and attention that exceeds their expectations. Accountable for maintaining high service and quality standards and proactively provides our guests with personal service and attention that exceeds their expectations according to brand standards, including Quality Assurance Inspections and Guest Satisfaction Surveys. The Doorman / Security Officer acts in alignment with the vision and direction of the Company, brand requirements, Standard Operating Procedures, Internal Controls and local, state and national laws and regulations. Monitors guest activities to ensure adherence to rules and safety procedures. Protects Company assets. Must be able to file all reports that are needed on a timely basis. Creates and maintains an atmosphere that induces guest to make Hotel Legends their property of choice on the Gulf Coast and maintains a high standard of team member relations at all times. Provides general information while maintaining four-diamond, four-star service to guests. Ensure that the company's Mission Statement and Vision Statement are continuously met.
Job Duties: Daily Operations
As a doorman / security officer your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
Ensure excellent guest and team member relations.
Demonstrates commitment to Company goals through work ethic, integrity and respect for the Company and team members.
Unites Team Members in a common commitment to achieve and exceed these goals.
Holds self and others accountable for creating a culture of high performance.
Works closely with management throughout the Company.
Impresses guests with quality and timely service in a pleasant and friendly manner.
May assists with, encourages, provides and trains guest service standards for all Security Team Members. Encourages other team members to set an example of the expected level of guest service.
Personally, follows up on all guest inquiries, issues and concerns in a timely and effective manner to ensure the Brands high standards of quality and service are maintained.
Identifies potential obstacles to exemplary service. Uses available tools and knowledge to implement ideas to maximize guest satisfaction scores.
May assist with the ongoing training and development of the team members and maintaining all necessary training records.
May participate in monthly Safety Committee Meetings.
Must have sufficient computer skills that will allow him or her to be able to use, in a proficient manner, all Company-issued software programs implemented to perform job duties.
Maintains integrity of property and protects company assets.
Communicates and establish rapport with Guests.
Responsible for seeking out guests in need and immediately helping that guest to encourage a great experience and repeat visitation. Ensures a maximum level of guest service and satisfaction is achieved and maintained throughout the property.
Identifies potential safety hazards and reports same to the appropriate individual for proper resolution.
Knows hazardous materials used on property and all applicable laws, rules and regulations governing same.
Completes departmental reports, reviewing any potential conflicts and / or misinformation. Completes all written reports regarding security-related incidents involving guests, employees and/or the property and makes sure that all reports are completed in a timely manner and proper authorities and the General Manager are notified according to company Standard Operating Procedures
Informs General Manager of any unusual or suspicious situations on property according to Company Policy.
Monitors all activities on property to ensure that all applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies, procedures and controls of the company and OSHA are enforced.
Monitors and adheres to responsible alcohol service established by company policy.
Requests and accepts identification from all persons who appear to be under the proper age in the bars, lounges etc.
May assist in the emptying and refilling all recharging stations and ATMs.
Escorts and observes guests and team members to ensure their safety and
protection.
Ensures safe transportation of company monies and assets.
Assist in loss prevention by practicing proper security safeguards.
Understands and is proficient in all systems and tools to perform job duties.
Handle Guest complaints correctly and notify a manager.
Complete required and ongoing training for the position.
Prioritize and complete all assigned task, for maximum productively and efficiency.
May serve as a dispatcher during emergency situations, as needed, and coordinates solutions.
Ability to interact professionally with other departments and outside contacts.
Ability to complete a heavy workload and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision. Must be able to maintain composure under stress in a fast-paced work environment.
Ability to understand and promulgate written memos, instructions, policies and regulations.
Excellent judgment and decision-making abilities.
Must project a professional and positive image.
Maintains a high energy level.
Ability to deal with people in a manner which shows sensitivity, empathy, tact, and professionalism.
Understand and utilize all safety and sanitation practices as defined in the safety program; report any accidents.

Use respectful language with Guests, Team Members, Supervisors and Managers at all times.
Respond appropriately in emergency situations to avoid danger to self, Team Members, and Guests; remain calm at all times.
Follow all procedures to safeguard merchandise.
Enforces proper dress codes, age requirements and behavior throughout the Property in a professional guest friendly manner.
Have strong knowledge of the property and its services, and local attractions.
Accountable for maintaining high service and quality standards according to brand standards, including Quality Assurance Inspections and Guest Satisfaction Surveys.
Other duties as required or assigned.
Computer Skills: Good computer skills needed.
Additional Responsibilities:
1. Maintain a clean and professional work environment at all times.
2. May attend weekly or monthly departmental meetings.
Team Members must be able to relate to other people beyond giving and receiving of instructions: (a) can get along with co- workers or peers without exhibiting behavioral extremes and (b) respond appropriately to criticism from a supervisor.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each responsibility satisfactorily. 1. High school diploma or GED.
2. 1 year experience in guest service or security field or working in some aspect: or equivalent combination of education and experience.
3. Excellent reading, writing, mathematical skills must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide and have great communication skills and report writing skills.
4. Ability to interact professionally with other departments and outside contacts.
5. Ability to complete a heavy workload and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
6. Good judgment and decision making abilities.
7. Health permit/food safety, Alcohol Awareness and safety training may be required.
8. Cash handling skills
9. Ability to deal with people in a manner which shows sensitivity, empathy, tact, and professionalism.
10. Ability to work all shifts to include weekends and holidays also work 6 day work weeks when required.
11. Health permit/food safety and Alcohol Awareness. Team Member may be required to obtain cards individually and provide proof of possession prior to first day of employment subject to local laws and regulations. 12. May need to obtain a life safety certification.

Physical Requirements:
On a continuous basis, stand or sit for long periods of time, intermittently twist to reach equipment or supplies, perform simple grasping and fine manipulation.
1. The incumbent should be able to stand continuously for periods over 1 hour.
2. Incumbent must be able to communicate clearly. Long hours sometimes may be required. Medium work Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 30 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
3. Pushing, pulling and lifting objects from lower to higher position or higher to lower position or moving objects horizontally, from position to position and be able to grasp objects while bending, stooping, standing, sitting or walking,
4. Will be required to maintain body equilibrium to prevent falling while walking, standing or crouching in narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces.
5. Climbing and ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps.
6. Hearing sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction.
7. Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus both indoors and outdoors.
8. Occasional travel for training purposes or other business needs.
9. May be required to work, in a changing indoor and outdoor environment, such as bright sunlight, noise, wind, rain, cold, snow, heat, smoke etc.
