Essential Accountabilities:
- Being a visible deterrent to crime.
- Identifying suspicious behavior.
- Contacting and communicating with the authorities.
- Taking action in emergency situations. Self-motivation is a must.
- Patrolling and monitoring activities on the premises regularly to discourage criminal activity and ensure the environment is safe and secure.
- Checking all perimeter doors periodically during the shift.
- Evicting trespassers, violators and emotionally disturbed persons while following legal protocols before relevant authorities arrive to take over.
- Controlling the entrance of employees, visitors, and vendors.
- Monitoring surveillance cameras to water out for any disruptions or unlawful activities.
- Providing detailed reports on daily activities any incidents that may have occurred to management.
- Assessing burglar/fire alarm system for proper operation.
- Performing CPR or fire aid when needed.
- Performing physical plant inspections and notifying admin staff of deficiencies.
- Completing Environmental checklist for Elmont facility.
- Performing fire watch when needed.
- Other tasks as directed by Management.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalency diploma or experience in security work. A valid NYS Drivers License is required.
