About This Position: The Security Engineer is responsible for ensuring that security tools are up and running. Part of this process will entail designing and deploying automation. The Security Engineer would also help respond to security incidents using the tools they implemented as a core part of TKC’s blue team defense.
Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities
- Improve existing tools to reduce security friction.
- Develop, execute, and track the performance of security measures to protect information and network infrastructure and computer systems.
- Design computer security strategy and engineer comprehensive cybersecurity architecture.
- Find and implement opportunities for task automation and optimization.
- Identify, define, and document system security requirements and recommend solutions to management.
- Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain security infrastructure software and hardware.
- Install software that monitors systems and networks for security breaches and intrusions.
- Monitor systems for irregular behavior and set up preventive measures.
- Other duties as determined by the needs of the business.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field preferred or equivalent combination of education/experience. Master’s degree is a plus.
- CISSP, GSEC, CISA, CISM, or other security certification desired.
- Experience of Security Architecture Design and Implementation, Wireless Security, network security, system monitoring, Vulnerability Detection and Remediation, and Windows/Unix/Linux security knowledge an asset.
- Experience in Web application security including secure application development (security in SDLC phases) and architecture an asset.
- The candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in information security or information technology.
